Dreaming of a wedding framed by tropical gardens, warm sand, and golden sunsets?
The Westin Reserva Conchal in Guanacaste is one of my favorite Costa Rica venues for couples who want luxury and nature in one place, is one of those places that truly has it all. When Jessica & Austin invited me to document their day, I knew we’d get gorgeous light, amazing moments, and a celebration full of laughter.
This particular wedding took place in August, a month that keeps us guessing when it comes to the weather — but Costa Rica always surprises you in the best way. We had a day full of sun, the softest breeze, and perfect light for photos.

Getting Ready at The Westin Reserva Conchal
I always like to arrive at least an hour before the timeline starts, even if I already know the location. It’s my way of slowing down, observing the light, and connecting with the space before the day begins. I also love taking a few photos of the nature around, the palms, and the little details that make this place so unique. Also is important to spend a bit of time with the couple — break the ice, talk, laugh, and make sure everyone feels relaxed. I always tell my couples that this part sets the tone for the rest of the day, so it’s worth taking it slow and enjoying every minute.
We started the day with the bride’s preparations — everything felt calm and unhurried. Later, I joined the groom’s room where things were equally relaxed; just good vibes and laughter all around.

The First Look & Ceremony
Before the ceremony, the couple chose to do a first look in one of my favorite corners of the resort — right in front of a beautiful fountain surrounded by lush greenery. It’s such a peaceful moment, and one of those times when you can really feel the connection between two people before they walk down the aisle.
The ceremony took place a bit later, with guests arriving and finding their seats under the warm Costa Rican sun. There were tears, laughter, and pure happiness — the kind of emotions that remind you why this job is so special.

Planning a Wedding in Costa Rica?
If you’re considering getting married in Costa Rica, keep in mind that the country has two main seasons:
- Dry season (December–April) — sunny skies, golden light, and perfect beach weather.
- Rainy season (May–November) — lush landscapes, dramatic skies, and softer, moodier light.
Both seasons are beautiful in their own way — you just have to choose the one that fits your vision best.
As a Costa Rica wedding photographer, I’m happy to guide couples through the planning process, recommend the best spots for photos, and suggest fun activities for guests, ensuring your destination wedding is not only beautiful but also effortless and full of unforgettable moments.
If you’re dreaming of your own Westin Reserva Conchal wedding or destination wedding in Costa Rica, I’d love to help you plan and capture it. Let’s create something magical together.
